This past weekend we celebrated President's day with an extended weekend visit to Cambria with some dear friends of ours. Ty and I first visited Cambria around this time last year and we loved it so much that we have been back several times since. We just can't resist the gorgeous views, delicious wine, and slightly chilly weather. This time we also got to visit Hearst Castle which neither of us had seen before.
We've talked often about how grateful we are to have found our church. We church-hopped a lot while attending Pepperdine and, though it gave us the opportunity to hear a lot of great speakers and experience a lot of different types of worship, we didn't get to experience the security that comes with investing in a single place for an extended period of time. We fell in love with Silverlake Community as soon as we started going last Summer but it has just recently begun to sink in that the friendships we are building may last for years to come. We've been stuck in that transient-college-student mindset for so long and it is refreshing to look around on a Sunday morning at the faces we've come to love so much and know that, for the most part, many of us are going to be sticking around for awhile.
