Home for the Holidays

Wednesday, January 9, 2013

I feel so, so blessed to be close (emotionally and geographically) to my family: in-laws included.  Tyler and I spent the past two weeks celebrating Christmas with our families and had such a blast getting to spend time with everyone.  We decided when we first got married that we would spend Thanksgiving with one side, Christmas with the other, and then flip-flop the next year.  While it can be hard being away from one side of the family on certain holidays, it is also so nice to not have to spend the day rushing from one place to the next.  It also gave us the excuse to celebrate Christmas a few times before Dec. 25, and those smaller, more intimate celebration with just a few family members were so special.  Here are some pictures from our holiday season:

Christmas with my dad, Sam, & the doggies

Ringing in the new year with vintage noisemakers, games, and more gambling!
I've been spending the past week reflecting on 2012 and contemplating the things I'd like to accomplish and change in 2013.  I'm so excited to start a new year with so many possibilities ahead of us!
